$2000 Scholarship Available for the 2009-2010 Year

Scholarships are offered to women students seeking continuing education.

General Information

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Be living in King, Kitsap, Pierce or Snohomish County.
2. Be entering or continuing an educational program in the field of study that will advance her career goals.
3. Be in need of financial assistance.
4. Have demonstrated a high scholastic ability.
5. Complete and submit the application and all required materials by deadline date.

Award Process:

1. Completed application and all related material shall be sent to the Emerald City Business and Professional Women’s Foundation (ECBPWF) Scholarship Committee.

2. Applications are confidential. They become the property of ECBPWF and will be destroyed after the scholarship year.
   
   
3. DEADLINE: Application and all related material must be postmarked by March 2nd, 2009, and received no later than March 7th, 2009.
   
   
   NOTE: Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
   
   
4. The ECBPWF Scholarship Committee will review all complete applications. Selection of a recipient will be made in accordance with criteria established solely by the ECBPW’s Foundation’s appointed committee.
   
   
5. Upon selection the ECBPWF Scholarship Committee will voucher and authorize the ECBPWF Treasurer to issue the scholarship award to the named educational institution of the recipient.
   
   
6. Awarded scholarship funds will be mailed to the educational institution stated on the application.
   
   
7. Once funds are received at the named institution, recipient may expend the funds during any term (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer) within one year of the award date.
   
   
8. The recipient may draw on the funds, as needed for tuition, books, lab fees, and supplies appropriate to the course of study.
   
   
9. Recipient/s will be notified by mail and may be invited to attend a future meeting of a Business and Professional Women’s Local Organization.
   
   
10. All transportation expenses to attend the meeting, i.e., gas, parking, bus fare, will be the responsibility of the recipient. The Local Organization will pay for recipient’s meal at the meeting.
    
    
11. Upon request, the recipient will submit a recent black and white photo to the committee for publicity purposes.
    
    
    

The Emerald City Business and Professional Women’s Foundation Scholarship Committee reserves the right to reject any or all applications that do not meet the requirements stated herein.
